When you install a base game CIA for Monster Hunter 4G , the 3DS creates a specific directory on your SD card dedicated to that title ID. When you subsequently install the Update CIA, the system does not overwrite the base game. Instead, it places the updated files into a separate "patch" sub-folder. Both files must match the same region (-JPN-)
